Chris Bennett is the Global Head Coach of Nike Running. Prior to that Bennett coached at CBA, NJ. He ran 5 years for the Olympic Development Nike Farm Team running 3:43 for 1500m. Chris tought and coached at CBA in Lincroft, NJ. While at CBA the Colts won National Championships in the 4xMile (2011, 2013 & 2014), the NXN XC National Championhip (2011), the National Championship Outdoor 4x800 (7:34), set the National Record in the Indoor 4xMile (17:07.17) and set NJ state records in the Indoor 4x800 (7:41 2012) the Indoor DMR (10:02 2011) the Outdoor 4x1500 (16:08 2012) as well as team average course records on the XC courses at Portland Meadows, OR (NXN Course), Van Cortland Park, Holmdel Park, Great American, NC, Warinanco Park and Ocean County Park as well as running the 2nd and 3rd fastest team averages in US XC History (15:03 & 15:08). CBA won the HS Championship of America DMR at the Penn Relays in 2011 and finished 4th in 2014, 3rd in 2013 and 2nd in 2012.
The CBA teams won the last 4 NJ All Group State Championships in XC, the last 4 Parochial A State Championships in XC and the last 4 NE NXN Regional Championships and set meet records at each Championship in the process. CBA also won 6 of the last 7 Parochial A Indoor State Relay Championship since Bennett returned as well as 6 of the last 7 Parochial A State Indoor Championships.
CBA also won the 2012 Outdoor Parochial A State Championship. The Colts also were runner up in the 2011 and 2013 Indoor National Championship DMR and 2011 Outdoor National Championship 4xMile as well as 3rd place in the 2012 Outdoor National DMR. Amazingly CBA has been All American in the Indoor 4xMile for SIX straight years. In 2012 CBA became the first US HS boys team to have 2 teams named All American in the same event as the Colts A and B teams finished 4th and 5th at the Indoor National Championships. Coach Bennett was Co-Director of Bennett Running with his wife Tammie. Bennett Running operated both Track and Field and Cross Country camps between 2008-2014. (2014 marked the ELEVENTH year in a row that Bennett Campers qualified for XC national championships (Footlocker or Nike XC Nationals/NXN). Some of our campers were state champions in 2014, and some were national champions!
Bennett also Co-Directed with his wife, Tammie, the Wicked Pumpkin XC Run, the Summer Twilight Miles Series, The Greatest Runner Ever Competition, Tuesday Night Speed Runs, Sunday Long Runs and the Bennett Running Middle School Outdoor Track Twilight Series. Bennett Running offered private and group coaching.
Chris was NJ State Champion in the 800m and XC. He was 1st Team All State in XC in '93. At CBA, Bennett was a part of 4 nationally ranked XC teams and the anchor leg of the runner up DMR at the National Championships. He was also the anchor leg on the All American 4×800 Relay team in 1994. An 8 time Monmouth County, 4 time Shore Conference champion, Bennett attended UNC where he captained the Tar Heels' XC and Track teams.

Tammie Bennett was a 2 time NC State Champion in XC. She has held NC age group records for the 5k, 8k and 10k distances for over 20 years. While on the University of North Carolina XC and Track teams she earned All-ACC honors in the 3000m, 5000m and 10,000m runs. She later competed for the Olympic Development Nike Farm Team based at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Tammie has a 5k PR of 16:50. She coaches diastance for Saint Thomas More in Portland, Oregon. She coached cross country and track at St. Leo the Great in Lincroft, NJ as well as XC with the Bowerman TC Youth Program. In the Fall of 2011 Bennett started the pee wee XC program at St. Leo the Great and followed the success of the fall with an Outdoor Track pee wee program. The Outdoor Pee Wee program had over 120 kids! Tammie is Co-Director of Bennett Running which operates both Track and Field and Cross Country camps as well as the Wicked Pumpkin XC Run, the Summer Twilight Miles Series, and The Greatest Runner Ever Competition.
