Kentucky freshman Sydney McLaughlin ran a World U20 record 50.52 seconds in the women's 400-meter final at the SEC Indoor Championships at Texas A&M. McLaughlin's performance, which eclipsed the World U20 standard of 50.82 set in 2004 by Sanya Richards-Ross, was the second-fastest indoor time in collegiate history, along with the No. 2 all-time American indoor mark.
