Coach Jacob Michaels ran at Macalester College D3 1985-89 XC, indoor, outdoor track
Began coaching at Franklin HS spring 2002 track season - immediately coached all distance runners, and the joined XC with coach Hennessy fall 2002. Began designing all daily workouts as well as all off season training for XC and T&F 2003.

Have coached male athletes to 11 state titles, three in XC, four in 3000m, two 1500m, one 800m.

Women's XC team has qualified for state 12 of the last 15 years
Men's XC team has finished 5th, 3rd, 4th, 1st last for years at state.
All school records in 800/1500/3000m set by athletes I have coached, men and women, except women's 800m - though top 2-8 times in 800 are.
