ST. CATHARINES - Who says cross-country running isn’t a team sport?

Westdale Secondary won gold in the team category of each girls’ division at Thursday’s Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association cross-country championships. For the senior girls, it was the third straight year that group has qualified for OFSAA.

“It’s an honour because OFSAA is such a huge event,” Maya Amoah said. “I’m happy for the team and it’s heartwarming. There’s a sense of community because we all help each other so it’s like you are proud of your teammates.”
