Cate Peters, a Stanford-bound senior at Monte Vista High in California, won the top section of the girls 400 meters by a 55.60 to 55.65 margin over Hannah Rutherford of Mountain View High in California at the Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif.
