That mark moves her up to second on the American all-time list behind Georgia senior Keturah Orji. Orji owns the American record at 48-3.25 (14.71m), which she set in the 2016 Olympic final where she finished fourth.

Entering this weekend, Franklin had a personal best of 46-5.25 (14.15m) from the USATF Indoor Championships, held last month in Albuquerque, N.M. Her previous outdoor best of 46-0.25 (14.03m) was set at the 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships.
