Star Sprinter Meghan Hunter Injured In Car Accident By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Eight-time Utah state champion Meghan Hunter was injured, along with her sister Morgan, in a rollover crash in near her home in Provo this week. Hunter's father, BYU biomechanics professor Iain Hunter, shared a progress report on his daughters on the Cougars' track and field twitter feed Friday night. The good news is that both sisters surived and that their injuries are not life-threatening. Morgan Hunter did not sustain significant injuries, according to her father. Meghan Hunter underwent six and a half hours of surgery to repair broken cervical vertebrae. Her spine is OK. Iain Hunter speculated that his daughter, a BYU recruit, would probably not run for the next year while she recovers. The crash occurred when the vehicle they were in swerved to avoid a deer.
