Stanford's #5 Men's Recruiting Class and #4 Women's ClassPublished by
Recently Track and Field News released its recruiting rankings (January 2014) and placed the Stanford men fifth and women fourth. Early cross country performances by freshmen Sean McGorty (fifth at Pre-Nationals and 12th at West Regionals), Danielle Katz (7th Stanford Invitational, Doc Adams winner and Pac-12 and West Regional competitor), Emma Fisher (15th at Stanford Invitational and 2nd at Dock Adams), Vanessa Fraser (13th Stanford Invitational and 7th at Doc Adams) Sophie Chase (77th at Pre-Nationals and 63rd Pac-12) and Jack Keelan (20th at Stanford Invitational and 4th at Doc Adams), Sam Wharton (6th at Doc Adams), and Ryan Silva (6th at Doc Adams), Jackie Choucair (9th at Doc Adams) indicated that the top freshmen will make an impact now (McGorty) and in the future that Keelan, Katz, Fisher, Chase, Wharton, Patrick Gibson, and others will have a big impact in the future.
The freshmen non-distance runners will start their season in earnest for Stanford with the rest of a strong Stanford squad when they go to the UW Indoor Preview on January 18th
