Bad Weather and Travel Problems Push Unveiling of Bolt Statue to DecemberBy Adam Kopet A statue of Usain Bolt had been set to be unveiled Friday at the National Stadium in Jamaica, but it has been announced that the unveiling has been postponed according to the Jamaica Gleaner. The threat of thunderstorms has made the outdoor unveiling event difficult to hold. Also, the recent hurricanes in the region have made travel difficult for some of the expected visitors. The unveiling has been rescheduled for Dec. 3. The artist, Basil Watson, has also been commissioned to create statues of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Asafa Powell. More news |
